GARDEN DESIGN PROCESS

There are several steps to the full Design Process but you can choose how much of the service you require and to what level. At the outset I will arrange to visit for an Initial Consultation. During this visit I will gain a first impression of the garden and listen to all of your requirements and hopes for your outside space. I will help you to review the garden’s potential in meeting these ideas – within your budgets and timescales. As a follow up to this meeting I will provide you with a Written Brief including a full estimate for all of the services you wish me to provide, together with an initial estimate of construction costs. I will be clear on costings so that you feel fully in control of the project at all times.

On your approval of the brief I will arrange to carry out a Full Site Survey. If the site is very large and complex I will arrange for this to be carried out by a qualified surveyor. Following on from this I will produce for you a Detailed Master Plan. This will show both hard and soft landscaping ideas, full dimensions, and be sufficiently attentive to detail that it can be used by assigned contractors and/or landscapers. This plan will enable you to get a real feel for how the garden will look upon completion. If required I will also produce Detailed Planting Plans which will show details of trees, shrubs, bulbs and perennials with their heights, spreads and colours, recommended to achieve the desired look and feel of the new garden. I will also take into consideration the aspect of the beds, soil type and local climate, and level of maintenance required so the garden looks at its best throughout the year. Similarly, on request I can produce Detailed Construction Drawings showing the technical specifications of hard landscaping features.
